Local Business

Protection Initiative

By the year 2057 locally owned businesses will be extinct. Super AIs have consolidated all businesses into twenty-one mega corps (which, coincidentally is more than you have in 2024). But with your support and participation in the L.B.P.I. you can save these majestic human-made businesses.

And thanks to concerned citizens around the bay area, we have already seen some success! Read more below about how the L.B.P.I. is helping local businesses STOP the NOT SO DISTANT future.

Case Study #001

Initiative #01134 | Melanie Abrantes Designs

What we did

In a triumphant collaboration, People on a Mission (P.O.A.M.) and Melanie Abrantes Designs (M.A.D.) orchestrated The HUNT—a labyrinthine quest celebrating M.A.D.'s decade of artistry. This event offered 10 extraordinary handcrafted treasures, valued at over $1,500, as rewards for the discerning seekers.

The HUNT wove together digital and tangible realms, with 4 enigmatic clues unveiled online and 6 nestled within the storied landmarks of the Bay Area including SF MoMA, Chapel of the Chimes, and the Berkeley Fish House.

How we did it

Strategic Convergence: P.O.A.M. and M.A.D. converged their creative forces to identify pivotal locations and devise intricate clues, crafting a journey both cerebral and captivating.

Echoing the Call: The clarion call of The HUNT resounded through social media, newsletters, and local alliances, drawing a mosaic of participants—from M.A.D. aficionados and P.O.A.M. citizens to adventurous souls seeking weekend escapades.

Unveiling the Enigma: Over the enchanted weekend of May 3-5, clues were progressively revealed—three or more each day—immersing participants in a dynamic quest that spanned the Bay Area and the digital ether.

Sustaining the Quest: Engagement was meticulously nurtured through continuous updates and vibrant interactions on social media, ensuring the fire of curiosity burned brightly.

Dispensing the Treasures: The swift and astute were rewarded as the first to decipher and claim each code secured a unique prize from M.A.D.'s Anniversary Collection. For those who arrived late to the feast, a discount code and raffle offered solace.

How it turned out

The HUNT captivated hearts and minds, with all ten prizes swiftly claimed—with some online puzzles cracked in minutes. Participants raced to iconic Bay Area landmarks, braving rain and shine, driven by a collective spirit of adventure.

Strangers became friends, united by the thrill of discovery and the quest for handcrafted treasures. The event fostered a sense of camaraderie and community, as participants shared joyous moments and celebrated each other's successes.

But… Why?

The L.B.P.I. was created because artists, markers, thinkers need exposure to survive. Because for now we still live in a capitalist society. Or maybe we just think you’d like the way a M.A.D. vase would look in your solarium.
